Twisting your tongue, bursting with gestures - Dance workshop
Atelier
With No Anger, Emma Bigé, Léna Dormeau and Harriet de G.
Does “a body” designate a standing body, a body sitting up straight in a chair? When a body is lying on the ground or moving on the floor, it can only be the opposite of images of propriety, power and health. The floor is the site of indecency, because it is where bodies can be disturbed, misaligned, unassigned, disconnected, reconnected with one another in ways different from what is socially accepted.
In this contact-improvisation workshop, the space will be filled with bodies, as well as with voices, sounds, and certain words and ideas that, usually inaudible and unthinkable, will get the space moving and get bodies dancing. You will be invited to be bodies and voices that dance and/or read, that expose themselves and overflow, disrupting the space and rearranging the ground.
This workshop includes two components:
- a first sequence (around 60 minutes) dedicated to a movement practice (Contact Improvisation) offered by No Anger and Emma Bigé;
and after a break, - a second sequence (around 90 minutes) dedicated to reading and writing practices, offered by Léna Dormeau and Harriet de G.
This workshop is mainly intended for disabled people, anti-ableist activists, and their allies.
The room is accessible to persons with reduced mobility. Attendees are strongly encouraged to wear a mask.
