As a complement to the art centre’s exhibitions, publications provide an additional space for creation, diffusion and research. These publications provide a permanent record of artistic projects, even after exhibitions have ended. Most often, these publications are produced in conjunction with partner organisations: art centres, museums, Fonds Régionaux d’Art Contemporain, galleries and publishers.
The publications can take a variety of forms: catalogues, monographs, artists’ books, multiples, digital editions…
This is an opportunity to combine different points of view and styles of writing, by inviting authors from a wide range of backgrounds: art critics and historians, as well as writers, anthropologists and scientists.
Crac Occitanie’s publishing activity echoes the dynamism and creativity inherent in the world of graphic design, developing collaborations with graphic designers who are also involved in research.
