De l’impertinence is a platform at the intersection of the performing and visual arts. Every year, the laboratory brings together a group of artists who gather in Sète to experiment in residency. Together they create performances linked with the city’s sites (many of which are not dedicated to the performing arts).
The lab offers participants a space in which to compare their respective experiences: a period of exchange that is a veritable springboard for their evolving projects. De l’impertinence invites artists who have creative works in progress, so that they can continue to develop them and, if they wish, show the stages of their work to audiences.
The exhibition by Pauline Curnier Jardin at the Crac is the starting point for the creation of a new performance. The lab offers a danced translation of the exhibition’s forms, themes and journey. This takes place on the Crac forecourt after the presentation of Where the Fuck am I?, by Zoé Lakhnati and Per-Anders Kraudy Solli.
After an edition #0 in 2021, edition #1 will take place in two phases: 8 to 16 August for a residency in the studios of the city of Sète (Chai Saint Raphaël), and 17 to 20 August for a series of re-creations on various sites in the city.
