SPLACH - A talk with Juliette Mancini

Hors les murs, Rencontre

Event organised as part of the lecture series SPLACH, Séminaire Pour l’Art et les CHoses imprimées, in partnership with the École des beaux-arts de Sète and the Librairie L’Échappée Belle and the Studio Trames.

Meet us at the École des beaux-arts de Sète,
23 rue Jean Moulin, Sète.
For all. Free, subject to availability.

Juliette Mancini will be speaking about her work as a comic strip author and illustrator (De la Chevalerie and Éveils, published by Atrabile), as well as her most recent publication Mnémosyne et ses filles, a short story that was silkscreen-printed during a residency at print house La fraternelle (Saint-Claude).

It is a chance to discuss the artist’s ongoing processes of writing, graphic experimentation and research on the theme of mourning and memory.

Juliette Mancini is a comic strip author, graphic designer, and editor of the magazine Bien, monsieur.
Her work mixes painting, engraving, graphic stories, editorial design and animation. Her comic strips (published by Atrabile) address social themes like the relationship with femininity, individual and collective memories, and political awakening. She regularly produces drawings for the press (particularly the youth press) and for cultural institutions (including Biscoto magazine, Libération and Pavillon ADC). In recent years, she has completed residencies at Maison Fumetti, the Embassy of Foreign Artists, and La Fraternelle.
