Since the late 1980s, writer, artist, activist and teacher Gregg Bordowitz has been creating diverse works—essays, poems, performances, drawings, sculptures and videos—that mix autobiography, political reflection and social criticism in connection with the HIV/AIDS epidemic, Jewish heritage, queer identity, and his oral history of New York. His publications include The AIDS Crisis Is Ridiculous and Other Writings, 1986-2003 (MIT Press, 2004) and Some Styles of Masculinity (Triple Canopy, 2021).
