Dockville - Escale à Sète at the Crac Occitanie
Exhibition
From 26 March to 1 April
The Crac, along with the Occitanie region’s Directorate for Marine Affairs, and its Maritime Parliament, is offering an artistic programme in conjunction with Escale à Sète (Port of Call: Sète), a major celebration of Mediterranean maritime traditions.
Screening of the film Dockville by Sara Millot in the cultural action room at the Crac and at nightfall on Quai du Maroc.
Video artist and documentary filmmaker Sara Millot conceives films and installations that are rooted in reality while drawing from the collective and popular imagination. For nearly a year, the Occitanie region and Port Sud de France welcomed her on Sète’s commercial port: a maritime and industrial space, suspended between land and sea, drawn towards international exchanges while being linked to the city. A territory that is fascinating for its diversity.
Staying close to the quays, Dockville listens to the men and women who populate that city within the city. A film about port workers’ deep attachment to their territory.
In partnership with the Occitanie region’s Directorate for Maritime Affairs, the EPR Port Sud de France, and with support from the Occitanie region, the Drac Occitanie, Escale à Sète, and the City of Saint-Étienne.
