In resonance with Gianni Pettena’exhibition Anarchitecture, designer and teacher Nathalie Bruyère presents the book Global Tools (1973-1975) – Éco-design : Dé-projet & Low Tech, published in 2022. This reference book looks back at the experience of the movement in which Gianni Pettena actively participated during the 1970s, alongside radical Italian architects and designers.

Global Tools was a counter-school of design that emphasised poor techniques and craftmanship, and questioned the consumerist society. Nathalie Bruyère examines the contemporary meaning of questions that Global Tools raised fifty years ago.

Nathalie Bruyère teaches space and object design in connection with ecosystems, at the Institut supérieur des arts et du design de Toulouse.
After graduating from Domus Academy in 1994, Nathalie Bruyère founded POOL products with Lorenz Wiegand between Berlin and Toulouse in 1998. POOL products develops simple, aesthetically responsible, rational objects that can be used by everyone in everyday life, while making the most of unique production systems. These processes result in maximum flexibility. The projects respond to specific needs at a given time, allowing the user the flexibility and freedom to use them however they choose; they are closely linked to questions of space
