"Prélude à un Sablier de Glace" Sarah Thiriet - Screening, reading, talk

Projection , Rencontre

I grew up on the Mediterranean coast, in Montpellier. “Dirty Arab” is what they called me on the playground at preschool. It was an identity that put me on the border at an early age. I’m a daughter of the border—and what about today?
Sarah Thiriet

For a few years, Sarah Thiriet has been developing sculpture, photography, video and performance work, in which she sketches out the world’s fragile balances, border crossings, exile, and migration. After living in Seychelles and La Réunion for several years, she has recently begun several projects in Benin.

This event presents a new chapter in her work, through readings of texts written by Mohammed Alhodi, whom she met during a project-workshop conducted with La Cimade in Montpellier in 2017. The reading is accompanied by the screening of a new film, shot on Sète’s port as well as in Benin.

Cultural action room.
